Data Collection

Data is critical to SERC’s continued success in support of its mission to reduce risks to the reliability and security of the electric grid. As a risk-based and data-driven organization SERC periodically collects data and information from registered entities to conduct reliability assessments, performance analysis, and studies. SERC also facilitates data collection in accordance to NERC Reliability Standard requirements and NERC’s Rules of Procedure. Most reliability assessment data is submitted using the SERC Reliability Portal. Open this link to view a training module for the SERC Reliability Portal. Other tools used to gather information may include study group work, surveys, and e-mail inquiries. Links to other data collection systems the SERC registered entities may need for data collection activities are provided below.
